TOPICS: Jewish Cooking (5963); Israel 101 (5964); Campus Superstar/Event Planning (5965); The Magic of Jewish Summer Camp (5968)

Does not count toward Jewish Studies major or certificate. Students may only take 1 section per semester and a maximum of 3 credits during degree. S/F grading. These sections are designed to be practical in nature allowing students from the College and other schools on campus to gain practical leadership experience in the community with a focus on Jewish Studies.

These sections meet at the Simone G. Hillel Center, 730 E. Third Street. Questions regarding the X170 classes should be directed to Hillel@indiana.edu

Descriptions of each section

Jewish Cooking (5963)
Monday 3-4pm
In Jewish Cooking, students will explore the art of making traditional Jewish dishes – from challah to kugel to Israeli foods.

Israel 101 (5964)
Monday, 1-2pm
This course will address the complexities and diversity of Israeli society. The goal of this course is to deepen the student’s understanding of current events in Israel and to explore Israel’s role in the world.

Campus Superstar/Event Planning (5965)

Be a part of a huge fundraiser for Hillel at IU! Campus Superstar is a state-wide singing competition for any student in Indiana. As part of this class, you will have the opportunity to plan, market, and implement this large venture, and in this 16th year of the competition it is sure to be bigger than ever! This year we are celebrating Rabbi Sue’s 30th year with IU Hillel.
